Mobile Sexy Photos and Clips on the rise

Since the internet was introduced in Cambodia, sexy photos and clips have become much more widely available and accessible.

Many young Cambodians have been caught watching those inappropriate photos in class on mobile phones, causing education experts to call for better education provision in schools. One 17 year-old boy, a student at a high school in Phnom Penh said: “I watched the video clip in the class via my mobile phone because I was bored with my teacher. I’m not the only one who was doing it.” and “There were nothing to be shy about since a lot of people did this.” One girl who studies at a private university in Phnom Penh, said that the boys in her class always watch inappropriate video clips on their mobile phones and sometimes share it with the girls to watch.

One male high school student in Phnom Penh said he sent some clips to friends via Bluetooth. He also showed them new websites where they could download inappropriate clips, and sent pictures to female classmates. He went on to say he watched them so that he could practice it with the night club girls at the cost of 5 dollars to 10 dollars. There should be more education programs that can educate people about the impact of those clips on Cambodian students.
